A discussion forum, "The way to go for ICT during the era of AI," was held at Yeonsai University in Seoul to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the communications industry in Korea.

[Consumerwide - Jinil Kang Reporter / Yohan Bok Reporter] A discussion forum, "The way to go for ICT during the era of AI," was held at Yeonsai University (Baekyangnuri Grandvolumn) Seoul to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the communications industry in Korea on the 5th. AI has a positive and innovative effect on society. Nevertheless, we are supposed to get ready for any changes that result from the rapid development of AI in our society. As research institutes, industries, and consumers, we all have got to pay attention to the value consumption of clever technology.

On that day, Yoo Yeongsang, the CEO of SKT, said, "Due to advanced government ICT policies for the last 40 years, the communications industry in Korea is now approaching one of the best ICT globally. In the era of AI, AI will change the industry and lifestyle of man during the 21st century on a large scale, just like how electricity brought innovation to economies and human daily life. AI is an opportunity, but at the same time, it also requires new assignments and responsibilities in terms of the design, direction, and management of the technology.

A decade ago, SKT established the Barun ICT Research Institute to resolve negative reactions while expanding the appropriate use of ICT in cooperation with Yeonsei University. We will continually strive for our research even during the future AI era so that we might contribute to the revival of Korean industry while leading Korea, one of the best countries in AI.
