[Consumerwide - Hayoung Chang Reporter/Yohan Bok Reporter]  Hana and Shinha Finance Groups were evaluated as outstanding in the Dow Jones Sustainability Management Index. The DJSI World Index represents the top 10% of businesses among the largest 2500 businesses globally based on market capitalization standards. 320 businesses among 2,544 global businesses (12.6%) and 22 businesses from Korea were listed on the DJSI World Index 2023. Hana and Shinhan Finance Groups were levelled as "outstanding" for each constant for 2 years and 11 years. It's known that two financial groups were highly evaluated for their ESG management.

Hana Finance Group was listed in the DJSI World Index, which is the highest rank, for two years in the Dow Jones Sustainability Management Index. Sustinvest announced in November that Hana won the AA level in the ESG overall evaluation during the second half of the year, which is one step upgraded from the first half. (Susinvest is an ESG evaluation and research company.) Besides, Hana was also listed on DJSI for two years, which demonstrates the excellent ESG capacity of Hana Group overseas and in Korea. In particular, Hana was highly evaluated in various sectors, including importance evaluation, risk management, business ethics, tax strategy, climate change strategy, carbon reduction strategy, and human rights. Hana Finance Group has been communicating actively this year with various parties by publishing the Sustainability Management Report, which contains ESG activities and achievements, and the ESG Impact Report, which measures ESG management achievement as financial value.

Shinhan Finance Group was listed in the Dow Johns Sustainability Management Index Evaluation for the last 11 years (incl. 2023), which is the first case in Korea. Shinhan Finance Group was highly evaluated in the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures), sustainability official report, human rights due diligence, and variety index. In particular, the ESG activity achievement of Shinhan Finance Group, which involves the capacity of the group such as constructing the first ESG data platform and financial emission estimation system as a domestic financial business, was highly rated. Shinhan Finance Group won A+ for continuous nine years in overall areas in the 2023 KCGS ESG evaluation facilitated by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability in October, which is the first case among financial institutes in Korea. In addition, Shinhan Finance Group has been evaluated as excellent by various ESG evaluation institutes, including Sustinvest Public Enterprise Performance Evaluation. Shinhan Finance Group won the AA level in the Sustinvest Public Enterprise Performance Evaluation for the last five years, which is the first case among Korean businesses.
