Top businesses that won the "2023 Korea industry Customer Satisfaction Index"(KCSI)/ photo: each business

[Consumerwide - Jinil Kang Reporter / Yohan Bok Reporter] Customer satisfaction is a mandatory condition for practicing consumption value. Thus, a list of best businesses in the area of customer satisfaction matters to consumers.

KMAC announced the "2023 Korea industry Customer Satisfaction Index", the first customer satisfaction research system, which is entering its 32nd anniversary since it began in 1992, and results on the 21st. This year, they have evaluated 118 industries and 393 businesses in a 10 thousand (11546) sample group from the ages of 18 to 65 living in six metropolitan cities and Seoul, during April to early August. It evaluates a satisfactory level of a business along with a customer's intention of reuse through individual interviews. Thus, it's been perceived as a trustworthy guideline, in which one can check out reliable businesses in each industry category.

KMAC is an ESG management and consumption value guideline. Those businesses which won the KCSI are ones that have been striving to enhance the quality of a consumer's life through their services and products while placing "customer satisfaction" as a priority. These are the businesses that were listed at the top in the KCSI evaluation.

SKTelecom won the top in the telecommunication sector of KMAC, which they have kept for 26 years. SKT achieved a grand slam by winning three domestic customer satisfaction evaluations by taking top in both April NCSI (26 years) and July KS-SQI (24 years), for 24 years in the telecommunication sector. SKT has been proved as a business with customer experience innovation and enhancing service quality through this evaluation.

SK ICT family businesses have recorded the top in overall ICT services and wireless and wire telecommunication sectors during the KCSI evaluation. SK Broadband won in the IPTV and high speed internet sector for three years, SK Telink in the international call sector for 9 years. SK Sevenmobile won the top in the budget telecommunication sector, which was the first time to evaluate. 11ST won the top in the openmarket sector for 15 years and Tmap Mobility won the top in the navigation sector for 6 years. Asiana Airlines won the top in KCSI evaluation for 9 years in the airline sector. Asiana Airlines has won the top total 25 times out of 28 evaluations since 1995 in the airlines' sector of customer satisfaction category. Excluding 2020, which evaluation couldn't held due to Covid19, they won the top for 9 years since 2014. Asiana Airlines was highly evaluated for expanding international flights due to the endemic, travel mental therapy campaign, developing upcycling products, and practicing ESG management through social contribution.

Hanatour has been the top for 12 years in the tourism business sector. Hanatour presented Hanapack 2.0, which is a package focusing on the fundamental value of travel for customer satisfaction while shifting the travel paradigm. In particular, they excluded shopping tour schedules while reducing expenses for the guide and the driver at the travel location, which reflects the feedback of customers. Besides, the whole schedule centers around customers, including accommodation, food, and activities. This special package is offered in two types, "Hana Original", and "Urikkiri", which is a special travel package for individual groups.

Domino's Pizza has been the top for 9 years. Domino's was highly evaluated for offering special experiences to customers in cooperation with businesses in different industries, along with food-tech. Besides, through the "Domino's party car" project, which is a social contribution activity to sponsor citizens in domestic areas, they have strengthened a trustworthy image of business.

Shinhan Bank has been the top in the bank sector for years, since 2014. Shinhan Bank was highly evaluated in various areas including, strengthening financial consumer protection activities for constructing the right sales culture, providing real-time customer communication through satisfactory-level survey for customers, embracing and providing share-growth financial activities for citizens who are vulnerable financially, vitalizing consumer protection culture and Good-service by facilitating customer-centered-leadership-system, and mobile banking app SOL, which provides convenient and safe financial life and new experience.

In the internet-expert banking sector, Kakao Bank has been the top for three years. Kakao Bank was highly evaluated more than average in satisfaction in elements, overall satisfaction, and intention to reuse categories and highly evaluated in the customer center area. Additionally, Kakao Bank was evaluated as excellent in level of trust, convenience in the untact transaction process, and appropriateness in charge categories.

Coway ranked the top water purifiers for 7 years, since 2017, and the bed sector for 3 years. Coway was evaluated as excellent in the overall customer satisfaction element by providing expertised doorstep maintenance services while providing customized product which gives a distinctive experience to customers. In the water purifier sector, Coway has been proved for an advanced environmental home appliance business by recording high marks compared to competitive businesses regarding taste and quality of water, service responces, and trust on business. In the bed sector, Coway was highly evaluated in material, function, and quality of mattress areas, and also in elements satisfactory, overall satisfactory, and intention to reuse compared to the businesses in the same industry.

Kyobo Books has won the top in the large bookstore sector for 27 continuous years. Kyobo was highly evaluated for pursuing various digitalization projects after announcing their vision to enhance the knowledge and art culture content area.

In the rentcar sector, Lotte Rentcar won the top. Lotte had won the top for 8 continuous years. They were evaluated as good for high trust in the company, convenience in car reservation, rent, and return. In the duty-free store sector, Shilla Dutyfree shop won at the top. They ranked at the top for 9 continuous years. Kyoungdong Navien won the top in boiler sector. They won 11 times, and 10 continuous years.
