[Consumerwide - Jinil Kang Reporter / Yohan Bok Reporter] K-fashion is actively participating in environmental trends by containing the meaning of sustainable earth instead of just expressing creativity. This might increase the value of cultural consumption.

The 2024 F/W Fashion Kode has begun at the Coex The Platz Exhibition Hall in Gangnamgu, Seoul, on March 21. This Fashion Kode focuses on the environment by choosing the Platz Exhibition Hall, which is the first environmental concept exhibition hall in Korea, and using an assembled exhibition booth system and a reusable hanger for the stage. Besides, the event hall has exhibited the fashion works of Leene, NUOSMIQ, VEGAN TIGER, and Summer Tag: Sol, whose brands are focused on sustainable environmental fashion. (clothes, shoes, jwealey)

Lee Suyeon (her 20s) said, "I checked out ESG brand products before entering the fashion show hall. I heard those shoes, to which I was attracted due to their prettiness, were made out of environmental materials. I might consider purchasing them."

Park Junhee (her 20s) said, "On a daily basis, I wear jewellery as a fashion item. However, hearing that these products are made using environmental methods makes me curious about them. I would love to have them for myself since I can also make the earth more sustainable by purchasing them."

Kim Yoojeong (in her 30s) said, "I love Stella McCartney, but I haven't got one for the Korean brand. Overseas, there are plenty of environmental fashion brands. It would be wonderful if more environmental fashion brands were nurtured in Korea, and they might become the face of K-fashion culture one day."

The Fashion Kode began in 2023, and it's been held biannually for the development of the Korean fashion cultural industry in Korea. 84 fashion designer brands in domestic areas have participated this year. The event is held until March 24, offering fashion buyers meetings, fashion shows, and Kode market programmes.
