[Consumerwide - Hayoung Chang Reporter/Yohan Bok Reporter]  Lee Sangmok, the CEO of Amorepacific Group, has participated in the ByeBye Plastic·BBP Challange, which is a national initiative to reduce plastic. "Bye Bye Plastic Challenge" is a campaign that involves citizens, public institutes, and CEOs and is hosted by the Ministry of Environment. As a practical step, they take photos of contents to reduce plastic and upload them on SNS. Lee Sangmok, the CEO, participated in the campaign appointed by Han Chaeyang, the CEO of Emart.

Amorepacific Group has been initiating the "LESS PLASTIC. WE ARE FANTASTIC!" campaign since early this year, and they have been making changes in the making, purchasing, using, and waste processes based on the common value of reducing plastic among customers, society, and nature.

Amorepacific Group has collected 2,583 tonnes of cosmetics containers from department stores, Marts, and Aritaum stores, aiming for package circulation between 2009 and 2023. This year they have been taking various steps, including launching a container collection campaign in the Amore online mall in January, signing an MOU with the Korea Resource Circulation and Distribution Support Centre in February, collecting cosmetics bottles in public housing in April, and expanding the Bottle to Bottle project further. (Using collected plastic and glass as resources for new cosmetic products.)

Lee Sangmok, the CEO of Amorepacific Group, has said, "We hope that the members of Amorepacific Group and customers will walk alongside us in reducing plastic on a on a daily basis, and we will try our best to reduce plastic in the product stage." And he has appointed Lee Inyoung, the CEO of SSGdotcom, and Park Minhae, the executive director of WWF Korea, as the next players.
