The first AI in Galaxy history includes real-time translation. The AI function is one of the most attractive aspects of the Galaxy S24. The AI provides real-time translation and Circle to Search, which provides a completely new search experience to consumers.

Based on on-device AI, real translation works simply by downloading, and it does not require a server. On the day of my visit, I was able to check out the AI function by downloading the feature, which supports 13 languages, including Korean, Chinese (simplified Chinese), English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, and Vietnamese, to my Galaxy S24 in the store.

I was able to experience message real-time translation and two-way translation service, but not real-time translation during the call because it is still prior to official release. As soon as the translation mode was switched on, a message that was already in English on the phone was converted into Korean. It seemed convenient, as this function applies to major mobile messenger apps.

When Korean was heard over the phone, both Korean and English sentences were displayed on the screen. This occurred immediately after pushing a button to begin the real-time translation. The text can be shown symmetrically with regard to the person on the other side. It seems to be quite convenient in the case of talking with a foreign flight attendant on an overseas destination flight, as it functions without an internet connection and projects letters in the user's direction. The lower part projects Korean, and the upper part shows a target language. It can be useful for language study.

The "Circle to Search" feature of AI begins searching when a user draws a circle on the screen after pressing a home button. The user has access to this feature (such as asking questions or checking information) even in the middle of using webpages, SNS, and Youtube. The former version also includes the feature. But the newest model is upgraded. Now both image and video searches are possible. I tested them out, and it was beyond expectations. I perceive that this can be useful when I want to know further about clothes, bags, or tourist spots while watching Youtube.

In addition, there are voice recording features, a speech-to-text script for each presenter (up to ten presenters), and a Note Assist function that transfers documents in accordance with meeting forms and summarises memoranda or writings from the Samsung Note App. That day, I didn't have the opportunity to experience them. However, I believe they will be really helpful for job duties or studies.

The camera functions have been upgraded. From the AI zoom to nitography.

The Note Assist feature, which transfers according to templetes, including meeting forms, summarises writings or memos on the Samsung Note app, and records the scripts of each presenter for a maximum of 10 people, is applied, though I couldn't experience it on that day. It seemed beneficial for tasks and studies.

The camera function of a smartphone matters. Recently, customers seem to choose more bar-type smartphones than the ZFlip series due to the quality of the camera. The Galaxy S24 offers stable resolution along with zoom functions and nighttime features by installing the Provisual Engine based on AI. In particular, Ultra has the best performance amongst cameras available at the moment by installing the Quad Tele System, which provides optical levels of high quality for X2, X3, X5, and X10 zooms, an adaptive pixel sensor that is compatible with 5-time zoom, and AI technology. When I tested them out, I discovered excellent-quality photos and videos on X2, X3, X5, and X10 zooms, clear without blurriness. 100 times more zooms can capture objects that are clear and clean compared to a former model; thus, I recommend the Ultra version if you care about camera function.

Response speed, weight, and grip sense

The Galaxy S24 Series has three models: S24, Plus, and Ultra. Device size, weight, camera, and AP features are upgraded on these versions, whereas the former version excluded AP at the time of upgrade. Galaxy Snapdragon 8 gen3 was installed on Ultra, while 엑시노스2400 was installed on S24 and S24 Plus. The Ultra was a tiny bit faster than other models. There was not much difference in touch response, and the weight was equal. Grip sense was better than the former ones. Choosing models with functions that are necessary to the user is a consumption value.
