[Consumerwide - Jinil Kang Reporter / Yohan Bok Reporter] Coca-Cola has been releasing limited edition products with various messages every new year since 2014, but there is no news at all this year. After an interview, we discovered that they chose not to release this year. This might disappoint consumers who value Coca-Cola limited-edition products.

Coca-Cola has been releasing limited edition products with cheering messages for loved ones every new year since 2014. They released ones with "Share a Coke" to pass on the heart that are uneasy to express to loved ones between 2014 and 2017. The messages and items in each year are as follows: 2014, nickname and message expression package; 2015, celebrating the year of lamb (the Korean sound "yang" can mean both lamb and the end of the verb sound) and sending hope messages with lamb images ("get well," "be successful," "many lucks," "hansome," "get in love," "tell your heart," "hug," "kiss"); 2016, a story-telling package using Kakao Friends characters concerning digital generation trends that communicate with emoticons; 2017 campaigns (When you pull, you get closer.) and Coca-Cola rebbon message that changes to pretty ribbon with plenty of label when it is pulled after opening the package; 2018, Kakao Friends special package is the same as 2016; 2019, illustration of BTS members and cheering new year message package; 2020, a DIY package where you write your own cheering new year message; 2021, Coke City Package, which contains landmarks of six cities in Korea to comfort the heart of not being able to travel freely in the new year along with ally ways (heap places) of each city; 2022, tiger illustration celebrating the year of the tiger and new year cheering messages for beloved ones; 2023, celebrating the year of the rabbit, presents a Coca-Cola rabbit package with a rabbit illustration.

But this year, it's been quiet regarding new-year package release news. It's already the 2nd week of January, and they have been promoting only new New Jeans Coca-Cola Zero products but no new-year package. It sounds like the new-year package release policy of Coca-Cola is changing after a decade, which can be disappointing to consumers who value collecting Coca-Cola new package products.

Regarding this, an associated person from Coca-Cola said during an interview with Consumerwide on December 12th, "We have no plan for the new year package release this year." However, they have not told us about the reasons. Thus, I get curious about whether they completely stopped the new-year package, which they have carried out for a decade, or if it's been a temporary plan.
