[Consumerwide - HueSoung Jun Reporter / Yohan Bok Reporter]  Ikea 40W USB charger is recalled due to fire and electrical hazards risk. It's been distributed in Korea and overseas, and there have been 17 cable damage cases overseas. The sales record in the domestic area was 4,566; thus, it's been recommended to refund or exchange these products for consumers. Referring to Ikea Korea on the 10th, it's been found that the ÅSKSTORM 40W USB charger in dark grey has a risk for fire and electrical hazards in the case of long-term use, along with a bent position as it's easily broken or damaged.

There have already been 17 damage and break cases among overseas consumers with long-term use in bent positions. The sales record for the product in the domestic area was 4,566. However, there were no medical treatment cases regarding the product in Korea or overseas.

Ikea Korea has announced this recall is a global precautionary recall for the risk of fire and electrical hazards when the cable is used in a bent position for a long time.

It can be refunded at all domestic Ikea stores, regardless of receipt. The model name of the Ikea 40W USB charger (ICPSW5-40-1) can be found on the label attached to the backside of the product.

An associated person from Ikea Korea said during an interview with Consumerwide on that day, "The recall product can be 100% refunded at Ikea stores in domestic areas. If it is inconvenient to visit stores, please call us via CS Center. We will guide you through. Ikea values the safety of its products and customers, and all its products are manufactured with safety tests following the standard guidelines. We will continually strive to distribute safe products."
