[Consumerwide - HueSoung Jun Reporter / Yohan Bok Reporter] Toyota seems to be focusing on hybrid cars but slowing down in releasing electric models until the right timing concerning the economic downturn along with a lack of charging infrastructure and the high price of electric models. Toyota can be a solid choice for consumers who prioritise the environment.

During the 5th electric model "5th generation Prius" official release media event, which was held on the 13th at Seoul Gwangjingu Piefactory Studio, Konyama Manabu, the CEO of Toyota Korea, said, "Hybrid can be an excellent powertrain for approaching carbon neutralisation concerning resource conditions or maintenance infrastructure. Initially, we had a plan for releasing electric models this year, but the market is changing beyond expectations. We are still checking out various aspects for release time."

Toyota Korea is planning on increasing market share through a multi-pathway strategy next year in Korea. The multi-pathway is selling a variety of automated models according to each market, and the core is supplying environmental cars concerning customer needs and energy conditions in each area of the world.

This year, due to the strategy of Toyota Korea, they have presented the Rav4 PHEV (plugin hybrid), Crown Crossover HEV, Alphard HEV, Highlender HEV, Prius HEV, and PHEV in the domestic market, focusing on the hybrid powertrain, which is at the centre of attention among customers. The accumulated sales recording in November was 7,602 units, which is a 30.6% increase from a year prior.

Konyama Manabu, the CEO, said, "The future lies in an untransparent environment. Thus, we have a variety of options. Accordingly, we see that using a multi-pathway strategy works in time, just like the growth of the annual zone. There are years that trees grow enormously with wider annual zones. But it can grow weaker in terms of tree life. Even if it's a small step, we will try to grow by releasing solid items that are accustomed to our level. Customer care is at the centre of this plan."

Konyama Manabu, the CEO, also emphasised the progress and future of Toyota Korea. He said, "

This year I began taking the duty in Yoyota Korea and have been thinking in various aspects. I perceive the competitiveness of Toyota sources in the field as understanding the field with equitable services that bring happiness to customers. Thus, customer care is one of the values that Toyota Korea should carry on. We've been maintaining the number one title in the CS satisfaction sector, regardless of any difficulty we face. We plan to focus on customer care even in the future. We currently do not have an official plan for the plans after next year.

As for Lexus, we will try our best to be a lifelong partner of Lexus customers. Toyota has released various models, including the Alphard HEV, which has a comfortable space while moving, the Highlender, which has high efficiency regardless of its being a large SUV, and the Entry Prius. We will supply various options for the coming year as well."

Konyama Manabu, the CEO, said, "Toyota Korea is planning on making contributions to Korean society, which society we are entering, by ourselves working hard. Our goal is to build ourselves as a business that local customers value and can rely on. Having the constant effort behind us, we will achieve a company loved in the long term in spite of any circumstance."
