A total 28 km long tough forest trail test drive at the Jeongjok mountain in Yangyang province, Korea...Outstand offroad stable drive capacity has been proved...anywhere it reaches becomes a way.
[Consumerwide_ Yohan, Bok Reporter] On the 2nd day of Jeep camp (media day), At 9:30 am in Jeongjok mt., the mountain trail course began.
The course was a total of 28 km long tough forest trail located at the Jeongjok mountain in Yangyang province, Korea. The whole course was made of a round trip (2 hours and 30 min course) to the Jeongjok mountain top, at an altitude of 869m. It was time to experiment and test out Jeep offroad driving skills that we'd trained at the Jeep wave park a day before (20th), in the real game .
On that day, I drove from the Jeep camp to the entrance of the Jeongjok mountain in Yangyang province on the paved road, while following the safety car direction.
The Wrangler 4xe boasts outstanding drive capacity and ride comfort on both offroad and regular highway. There wasn't much road surface noise or wind noise while driving, which was different from the former Wrangler. On that day, I drove in open-roof mode and fully enjoyed the fall season.
Jeongjok mountain course is a restricted area for general vehicles. So, Jeep got official permission from Yangyang province.
The starting point was already tough. A steep hill was waiting for Wrangler to arrive. As I went up the hill, the uneven mountain road welcomed Wrangler. It was a combination of tough roads at the Jeef wave park, which I experienced the day before. Regardless of the continuing uphill road, Wrangler drove as if it was a flatland. The power was more than enough. As I reached the middle of Jeongjok mountain, the road was getting tougher. Right next to the road was a cliff. The road surface was slippery because of the soil. However, that couldn't be any obstacle to Wrangler driving.
Eventually, I reached th top of the mountain. As I got out of the car, and looked down, deepening fall colors and mountain ridge, and the sea came into my eyes.
Now, it was a turn to get back. As descending is harder when you climb, driving is the same. In particular, the gravel road and the dirt road can be more slippery. There are falling stones in some corners.
I could have used HDC(Hill Decent Control) at low speed while descending without having to press a break pedal, but I simply speeded up. Wrangler drove stable without fail. This just amazed me. The shock that passed to the inside of the car was less while the offroad tough drive. It proved itself to be the king of the offroad.
The Jeep camp experiment gave me an opportunity to get to know a Jeep car in depth.
I already knew the driving capacity and the ride comfort on-road of the Jeep, but didn't expect its capability on the offroad as much as this. For this reason, I strongly recommend you to take a chance for an offroad experiment if you've got a purchase plan for the Wrangler.
