[Consumerwide - HueSoung Jun Reporter / Yohan Bok Reporter]  Sejong Centre for the Performing Arts opened the Sync Next 24 pop-up store at Y173, which is the Bungejangteo authentic product inspection centre and a complex cultural space at Seongsu, on May 17.

Sync Next, in which Sejong Centre for the Performing Arts presents concerts of the most loved contemporary artists, is celebrating its 3rd year.

Sync Next is a programme in which you can enjoy the performances of artists who have been performing in a variety of sectors while constantly taking on challenges. Ten teams, including Kim Ohki, the composer; Kim Shinrok, the artist and director; Park Dawool, the Geomungo artist; Woo Gukwon, the fine artist; and actress Gulgeuk, participated in "Sync Next 24."

Sejong Centre for the Performing Arts opened the Sync Next 24 popup store at Y173, the Bungejangteo authentic product inspection centre, and a complex cultural space at Seongsu, where you can experience the Sync Next contents prior to the actual event at Gwanghwamun, between May 17 and 19, in corporation with Bungejangteo at Seongsu.

On May 17, the open day, the popup store was packed with MZ consumers. As soon as I entered a large piece, which explains about Sync Next 24, it captured my eye. On the right side of the exhibition zone, consumers can watch the artists' interviews from all the participating teams with headsets and monitors that are installed in each room. I observed visitors watching interviews with their favourite teams.

Visitors can encourage those invited artists by writing a message on the cards that are placed at the side of the exhibition zone. When visitors put the cards in the postbox, they are delivered to the artists, and afterwards, the participants have a chance to win a concert ticket.

Many visitors participated in the Get Your Ticket game, in which you press the reserve button and then click on the seats that aren't reserved yet in 30 seconds. Each game gets three hearts, and those hearts disappear as soon as you click on the seat. The game is over when all the hearts are completely gone, and the gifts are given according to the number of seats.

Quite a number of visitors participated in the event where you made your own poster with sketch tools based on the poster of Sync Next 24, which is an art piece by Woo Gukwon. The participants who complete the mission get the Staedtler neon colour pencils.

A person from Sejong Centre for the Performing Arts said, "We've prepared a Blackbox theatre concept popup reflecting the trend that enjoys branding like a playground. We were hoping the visitors would feel at ease with our concert along with the game contents, and they would visit Gwanghwamun one day.

As for the location, we'd been checking out a number of places in Seongsu for our pop-up event. We discovered that the spirit of Bungejangteo feels quite similar to our main copy, so we contacted them, and they delightedly permitted our proposal. ("THIS IS THE NEW BLACK." "SECONDHAND IS THE NEW BLACK").

Based on the MOU, Bungejangteo is using our facility, Sejong Centre for the Performing Arts, for their cultural fleamarket in September, almost closing point, while Sejongs Centre is holding their popup in the space of Bunjang in Seongsu. We both have saved money and got a special opportunity in a way.

During the actual concert at the Gwanghwamun, visitors have access to experience the hybrid genre pieces between fine art, installation art, media art, Gukak (Korean traditional music), choir, and theatre play. The concert begins with Love in Saturn, Kimoki Saturnballad Musical Theatre, on July 5 and 6, and the concert ends with Originality, a hybrid genre piece between opera choir concert and fine art, on September 6, 7, and 8. A total of 10 teams participated in the concert.
