The value-based consumption seems to increase based on the new electric car sales record. More customers are purchasing new electric cars, referring to the April sales record. Currently, gasoline, diesel, and hybrid cars are taking the top in fuel competition. However, it seems to be that the electric car will be taking over the place of the diesel car and competing with gasoline cars soon.

Based on the April new electric car registration data, which Consumerwide requested from the Carisyou data research center on the 8th, the new electric car registration record has increased by 2.1%(148,944) from the same month last year. The market share record varies depending on fuel types. Electric cars ranked 4th place by taking 10.4% after gasoline (52.3%), diesel (17.1%), and hybrid (15.8%) cars. 15.559 thousand electric cars were sold, which is a 6.2% increase from the same month last year.

The growing trend is centering around customers in the age of 40s, and male customers. Among customers in all age groups, customers in their 40s purchased electric cars the most. In detail, 605 female customers in their 40s purchased electric cars while male customers in their 40s purchase 1274 electric cars. The rest of the age group ranked in the order of 50s, 30s, 60s, 20s, 70s.  Customer records in each age group with gender specified are as following; customers in their 50s, female 525/male 1161, in their 30s, female 383/male 1076, in their 60s, female 275/male 741, in their 20s, female 76/male 238, in their 70s, female 58/male 195. In the big picture, customers between their 30s to 50s formed a loyal customer class. Customers in their 20s, who are thought to be the most innovative in environmental protection, could not participate in the mainstream much, which I assume that the price range of electric cars might have been a cause.

Next, where would be the region with the most electric car purchases in Korea? Gyounggido didn't disappoint us. Customers in Gyounggido ranked at the top by recording 2490 new electric car purchases. The rest of purchase records are, in rank order, Inchon 1321, Jeonnam 1038, Seoul 920, Gyoungnam 810, Busan 784, Gyoungbuk 671, Jeju 593, Jeonbuk 520, Chungbuk 495, Chungnam 496, Daegu 398, Gangwon 279, Daejeon 202, Gwangju 184, Ulsan 180, Saejong 85.

In the domestic electric car market, Hyundai Car Group was dominant. Excluding the Chevrolet electric car at rank 8 (out of 10), from the top to rank 9, they were all occupied by domestic electric car brands in April. The Kia electric model was sold the most. Kia ranked at the top, 4th, and 6th in the top 10. Hyundai ranked 2nd and 3rd, Genesis ranked 4th, 7th, 9th. The Carisyou data research center has included Chevrolet for domestic car ranking, but the electric car of Chevrolet is imported from overseas.

Besides, Chevrolet, BMW, Benz, Porsche, Volvo, Tesla competed in the imported car market. For electric car models, the rank order is Chevrolet at the top, BMW 2nd, 5th, 9th, Benz 3rd, 4th, 6th, 8th, Porsche 7th, ▲Volvo 10th, Tesla 11th.
