Celebrating Children's Day on May 5th, various businesses in the fashion, food, and finance industry will launch campaigns and make donations to children.

[Consumerwide_Hayoung, Chang Reporter / Yohan, Bok Reporter] Celebrating Children's Day on May 5th, various businesses in the fashion, food, and finance industry will launch campaigns and make donations to children. These are to support children who are in need or circumstantially vulnerable, and initially aim to contribute to their growth and a better future. Uniqlo hosts a campaign to support slow-learner children. KB(Kookmin) Card contributed to the 'So-won-seong-chwi' (wish granting) project for children from low-income families. SPC (Samlip) supports the medical expenses of children with rare, incurable childhood cancer. Mom's Touch contributed meal vouchers to needy children.

Uniqlo has launched the "Slow down, and walk together" Campaign with 'Future For Youth Foundation' (A-i-deul-gwa-mi-rae-jae-dan) for slow-learner children. They chose 90 mentors for one on one customized education for slow-learner children who struggle to keep up academically and socially due to low cognitive abilities.

240 slow learner children will be supported with a one on one mentoring-customized education and group activity program to enhance interpersonal and social relations skills for 8 months till December. One on one mentoring starts on May 15th.

Teaching materials particularly focused on slow learning children are given to mentors, and a basic cognitive skill learning class, which provides reading, writing, and counting basics, is provided on a weekly basis. Book reading and literacy education will be organized at the same time. Activities which involve self-respect, interpersonal relationship building, and social adaptation, are provided as well, in order to improve Self-Help skills.

KB Kookmin Card is donating 50 million won to finance a 'So-won-seong-chwi' (wish granting) project for children from low income families on Children's Day.

The donation was raised by a campaign, 'Wish Dream', in which staff and executives of KB participate. When staff complete 100 million steps during a month, KB pays expenses for the wish-granting project.

This donation has been passed to the Children's Centre Corporation(KACCC) through the Korea Child Welfare Center Association after collecting the wish-grant stories from the participant children.

SPC Samlip delivered profits worth 100 million won from the "Happy Dream Campaign" for the 'Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation' to support the cancer treatment expenses of children with childhood cancer and rare incurable diseases.

The SPC (Samlip) campaign is a social donation project, which donates part of Pokemon-bread sales profits to the treatment expenses of children with childhood cancer and rare incurable diseases. They have already passed on donations before Children's Day, and plan to run a campaign to support those children continually.

'Mom's Touch' initiates the "Delicious Sharing" campaign for children from disadvantaged families in Gangdonggu, where its headquarters are located. On Children's Day, a number of food products from Mom's Touch menu are passed to the children from disadvantaged families in Gangdonggu. Through Seongnae Social Welfare Center, 150 children from disadvantaged families in the Seongnae area have received gift vouchers to enjoy the best selling burgers and chicken products from Mom's Touch franchises in Gangdonggu.
