[Consumerwide_ HueSoung, Jun Reporter / Yohan, Bok Reporter] As the national subsidies are being released at speed, the sales of electric cars are rapidly increasing. Because customers who value the environment in their purchase are standing up for consumption value. So, let's check out what electric cars have led consumption value during March and the first quarter of the year.

Followed by Carisyou data institute, the Ministry of land, infrastructure, and transport, Korea imported car association, the electric car has taken only 7.6% among the entire new car registration, which was 452539, during the 1st quarter.

However, as March has begun, the new electric car registration rate seems to increase by taking up 12.5% among total new car registrations (174540). The new electric car registration was 34186 during the 1st quarter, which was a 22.7% increase from the same quarter last year. Just focusing on March, the electric car has sold 21884, which is a 25.9% increase (+4498) from the same month last year (17386) and 93.6% increase from last month(11304). The release of national subsidies might have influenced us in a big way.

An industry person said during an interview with Consumerwide, "Till Feb, national subsidies had not been released. Hence, the sales of electric cars have not increased much. But, along with the subsidy release, customers who've been waiting are beginning to purchase electric cars."

So then, what would the car be that has led to the consumption value (environment-based consumption)?  First of all, Hyundai and Kia have swept away from the domestic car sector (made in Korea). During the 1st quarter, the most selling electric car was the EV6 Kia, recording 4164. The record continues with Hyundai car Ioniq6 (3357) and Hyundai car Ioniq5 (3398). The rest of records on the electric car sales are; ▲Kia Niro EV(SG2), 908 ▲Genesis GV60, 819 ▲Kia Niro Plus, 634 ▲Genesis Electrified GV70, 434 ▲Genesis Electrified G80(RG3), 246 ▲Chevrolet Bolt EUV, 148 ▲Chevo-Mobility Chevo-C SE, 67.

Meanwhile, the Tesla ModelY has led the imported electric car market by recording 1044. Tesla is leading the imported car market with their absolute sales record. The Tesla ModelY has taken 4th place in the Korean and Imported car sales ranking. The record is continued in chronological order, ▲BMW i4, 652 ▲Benz EQE, 529 ▲Benz EQB, 373 ▲Benz EQA, 360 ▲Benz EQS, 310 ▲Porsche Tycan, 274 ▲Tesla Model3, 258 ▲Volvo C40 Recharge, 237 ▲BMW iX, 130.

March, the beginning of the national subsidies, was a month that could estimate the dynamic of electric car sales in 2023. The most loved car that was chosen by consumption-value-based customers was the Kia EV6 during March. EV6 has taken up the 1st by recording 3158 in a month's time (March). Hyundai cars, Ioniq6 and Ioniq5 have each taken 2nd and 3rd by recording 2502 and 1955. (integrated ranking)

For the Korean electric car sales ranking, the Genesis GV60 took 4th by recording 706.
