[Consumerwide_ HueSoung, Jun Reporter / Yohan, Bok Reporter] Trex Crossover of Chevrolet went over 10 thousand for pre-contract in 4 days (working days standard). This has replaced the new car pre-contract record in brand history by reaching the number in such a short time.

The 'Trex Crossover' is an entry model that was released after Chevrolet Spark stopped producing.

This model may attract consumption-value based consumers because of reasonable price, outstanding design, and space availability, which is beyond the small crossover body class.

Earlier, Consumerwide has been reporting about options and designs of the Trex Crossover based on test drive. (please refer to related reports)

This time, I will write about why this vehicle has reached 10 thousand pre-contracts in the shortest time based on test drive, particularly focusing on consumption-value.

The testing section was held in between Kintex Ilsan and Sopoongnongwol Paju(cafe), which was 35 km away. Because it was a test drive for the media, the driving distance was short. I was riding on the model, Trex Crossover RS.

On that day, the vehicle for the test was already set to start. The engine sound was low from outside.

As I sat on the driver's seat and closed the door, the starting sound faded.

For safe driving, I adjusted the seat and side mirrors. Soon after, I stepped on the accelerator following the start of the car ahead of me, and Trex Crossover began to move forward.

The start was gentle, which was different from what I imagined. I moved out of the parking lot, and got into the road in the center of the city. It was a repetition of go and stop as usual in the city. Regardless of circumstances, movement was tender. In particular, activating the auto-hold, which technology has been applied for the first time in brand history, was satisfaction. I suspect it would be quite useful on a congested city road.

I was looking forward to its driving capacity on the highway. I got to the highway and accelerated. I was suprised at its smooth speed again. It was hard to believe with a 1.2liter engine.

As I powered the accelerator, it began speeding without any hesitation. My doubts about power turned out to be useless. According to the speed, the gear changed gently. It was a great opportunity to experience the true value of GENⅢ 6 step autotransmission.

It is a driving capacity which can be experienced through middle sedan. I understood why a Chevrolet related person said before the test drive that a reporter speeded up to 200km/h from the previous test drive. I wasn't sure about 200km/h, but perhaps 180km would be more than enough. On that day, I drove at the regular speed of 110km/h. It was quiet while at high speed. Sounds of wind could hardly be heard. Rod surface noise was the same. There was almost no road surface shock. I was just amazed at the superior driving comfort.

This is a time to test the adoptive cruise, which supports a stop and go function. Thankfully, there was a speed limit enforcement section in the test drive section. As I activated the function and set the speed at 90km/h, the Trex Crossover started drive at the speed set while adjusting the space with a car ahead. When the car ahead of me speeded down, Trex also speeded down. While driving, when I took off my hands from the steering wheel, there was a message telling me to hold the steering wheel. The lane keeping assistance system is maintaining the driving in the lanes. This will probably be beneficial for long-distance driving or the speed limit enforcement section.

However, I couldn't get to experience a safe system that prohibits accidents, which includes ▲forward collision warning ▲ low speed autonomous emergency braking system ▲headup LED warning light (RLAD) ▲front pedestrian sensing and brake system.

The fuel efficiency for the 35.6km test drive was 12.7km/L on that day. Considering the RS (19inch tire installed) complex fuel efficiency being 12.0km/L(downtown 11.1/highway 13.2km/L), it was good.

Trex crossover Chevrolet is a crossover model that combines both the driving capacity of a sedan and the availability of an SUV. Considering the interior space being the best among vehicles in the same class, rational price, and fuel efficiency, this could be more than enough as a consumption value choice.

If you are considering the Trex Crossover purchase, I recommend the ACTIV or RS model. It costs max. 6 million won min. 3 million won compared to the basic model LG and LT. But, taking account of the options, it probably is reasonable to choose the ACTIV or RS model.
