This year, the show is hosted, focusing on the future cutting edge and eco-friendly mobility catching up the accelrated extension in new mobility field. The theme during the show is 'sustainable and intellectual mobility innovation ' same as 2021.

In particular, mobility shows this time might be a good guide for consumption-value-based consumers, who prioritize the environment.

On the 16th, Gang Namhoon, the chairman of the organizing committee, said on the Seoul mobility 2023 press day held at the Korea automobile manufacturers association in Seocho Seoul,

"Last year, our vehicle industry established a memorable outcome of reaching fifth place for 3 consecutive years regardless of constant difficulties including the global economic crisis, the Russia-Ukraine war, and shaking global value-chain. In particular, the entire vehicle industry has recorded 77.4 billion dollars in exports last year. It took up 1.3% of national exports and became the number 1 industry in exports. It's been taking a roll of reassured support in our economy by reaching 55.2 billion dollars of surplus in balance of trade.

The future mobility industry, including automation transition, carbon neutralization, automatic driving, and UAM aiming at early achievement of carbon neutralization, is explosively growing globally.

The aim of this industry, which is also called 'mobility innovation', is not only changing the former industry of vehicles, but also the rest of industry including IT, finance, construction, and entertainment. Seoul mobility 2324 is hosted between Thursday (press-day), 30th of March and Friday, 9th of April, 11 days. The theme during the show is 'sustainable and intellectual mobility innovation ' same as 2021. The exhibition space is twice in 2021. Participating businesses have increased approx. 60%, which includes 160 mobility relevant businesses from 10 nations.

Counting the new vehicles, automated driving and IT combined technology entertainment, electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles, flight mobility including UAM, and various hardware mobility and software service mobilities that trade off land and air, products and techniques that contain numerous mobility ecosystems are exhibited.

Participant corporations are classified by hardware, software, and service. And, hardware is divided by new mobility, auto makers and auto parts. Software is divided by automated driving, fusion technique, mobility incubating, and service is divided by platform, mobility care, and mobility life.

First of all, in the case of hardware, New mobility(UAM, robotics), 9 businesses are participating, including SKtelecom, V-Space, and exhibiting changes in the future mobility industry.

For automakers, a total of 23 businesses are participating; 12 manufacturing vehicle brands, including Kia, Renault Korea, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, 12 eco-friendly vehicle brands, 3 two-wheeled vehicle businesses.

For auto parts,19 businesses are participating, including ACDelco, which provides global

components and maintenance services.

In the case of Software, 4 businesses including Hyundai mobis and Autol are participating in automated driving, while 4 businesses including Deepinsight are participating for convergence technology, and 17 businesses including the Korean automotive technology institute are participating for Mobility incubating.

In the case of the service section, 9 businesses including Chabot mobility, Chatabus, Inventis are participating in the platform, 4 businesses including Action are participating for Mobility care, and 12 businesses including Hyundai Capital are exhibiting for Mobility life at the booth.

The new car is for the Mobility show ...electric cars are in trend

For the motor show, many expect a new car exhibition. With the mobility show this time, it is predictable that new cars presented by automakers may attract visitors. In particular, electric cars are on trend.

First of all, Alpha Motor, which is an electric car brand startup business in the US, is making their first debut during this Seoul mobility show. The CEO of the company, Edward Lee, said that they've chosen the Seoul mobility show as a debut stage for the reason of the Seoul mobility show suiting with the vision of Alpha motor, which aims for an eco-friendly economy and global leader that leads to ESG innovation. During the Seoul mobility show this year, Alpha motor is presenting Wolf+, which is a pickup truck for 4 people, and Wolf. Wolf plus has installed both single motor rear-wheel drive and dual motor four-wheel drive engines. It can carry a max of 402km, 336km each with one charge.

Meanwhile, Ssangyong returned after 4 years, and is opening the Torres EVX to the public for the first time during the Seoul mobility show. Torres EVX is an automation model of Torres. This year, Ssangyong is exhibiting a total of 17 vehicles, including the Torres EVX.

Kia is opening the large SUV electric car EV9 to the public for the first time. The design has been released through the media. EV9 is the second automation model of Kia, which is based on the exclusive car platform EGMP. The first one was EV6, released in 2021.

Experiments are on trend, even the mobility shows

During this Seoul mobility show, various experiments are awaiting. Among them, the UAM airtaxi of SK telecom, which attracted many visitors during the last Busan international motor show, was exhibited during the Seoul mobility show this year. UAM airtexi provides the experience of flying in the sky by wearing the VR instruments after riding to the huge robot arm simulater, which hosts 4 passengers.

In addition, E-mobility, which gives an opportunity to ride on electric bikes to the participants, and a traffic safety experiment event are offered in the exhibition hall.

In the separate space outside of the exhibition hall, a mobility experiment driving session, which involves car brands including Renault Korea, Mercedes-Benz, Genesis, is offered.
