[Consumerwide_ Yohan, Bok Reporter]  Polestar has released Polestar3(global release), which is the 3rd electric car model. It is going to be sold in Korea from 3rd quarter of next year. The domestic sale price hasn't been decided yet. However, considering the global market release price being 89900 Euro (​125 million won) for a Polestar 3 long range dual motor, it is suspected to be similar.

On 13th, 2am (KST), Thomas Ingenlath, the Polestar CEO, talked about "What SUV is supposed to be today?" during the Polestar 3 open event in Copenhagen, Denmark, which has been live-broadcast through YouTube live streaming. Then, he continued his speech, "Polestar3 redefines the SUV in the electric age. It's been designed to concentrate on fundamental elements, which are car-ratio, posture, and aerodynamics. Polestar3 is a strong electric performance SUV that stimulates the driver's sense through outstanding driving dynamics and authentic Scandinavian design. Polestar extended its manufacturing base to the USA. We are proud and joyful that we can extend our portfolio as we are reaching fast growth. Polestar3 was Polestar's original design from the beginning. It has new specifications like dual blade headlights, smartzone, and front aero wing."

Polestar3, released on that day, is a Polestar original design, which design is no longer 'of Volvo'. Polestar3 is a large SUV. Appearance is the maximized design of aero dynamic. This precise and effective aero dynamic design bears 'combined front aero wing applied on bonnet' and 'aero wing on rear spoiler and rear aero blade'.

Polestar3 has sufficient space and a strong SUV presence, which aspects are reflected in the wheelbase (2,985mm) and full width (2,120mm, including side-mirror) of the body. Interior of Polestar3 is a premium design that has maximized Scandinavian minimism, which is similar to previous Polestar models.

Polestar3 demonstrates a strong performance based on dual motor powertrain; this supports 489hp(360kW) and 840Nm. When you shoose the performance pack option, performance is improved to 517hp(380kW) and 910Nm. A dual clutch system with electronic toque vectoring functions, and one pedal drive, which has a step control function, support a stable drive. Polestar3 applied Adaptive dual-chamber air suspension and active damper. Active damper is controlled by electronic methods and adjusted up to 2/1000 sec unit(500Hz) according to road surface conditions. Polestar3 contains a 111kWh battery pack, which supports max. 610km driving distance in WLTP standard. V2G(Vehicle to grid) and PnC(Plug and charge), which connects electric car recharge to auto verification and payment functions, are available. The heat pump is loaded to basic specifications.

Polestar3 is the first Polestar model that has installed a central studio computing system (Nvidia drive core computer). This system supports driver monitoring and advanced driver assistance safety functions through processing data from multiple sensors and cameras.

The infortainment system has applied the snapdrago cockpit platform of Qualcomm technologies, Inc. for the next generation. This system takes care of high quality display, surrounding sound in premium quality, and connection flow for overall. Advanced active and passive safe techniques for next generation, including interior radar sensors, are provided by Volvo cars. Additionally, various ADAS are applied, including Zenseact and Lumanar, Smart eye. Polestar3 has installed Android Automotive OS, which cooperates with Google. Domestic sales models get an infortainment system and navigation, which is a Tmap co-development project for electric cars.

The entire Polestar3 model has applied air suspension, panoramic glass roof, overall LED lights, foldable door handle which contains approximity sensor, 21 inch alloy wheel as basic specification.

Plus-pack that includes luxury and convenient functions like Bowers and Wilkins premium sound system that supports Dolby atmost and 3D surrounding system based on 25 speakers, soft closing door, headup display(HUD), Pilot assist, and pilot pack are applied to first year models. The pilot pack option that includes Lidar of Luminar can be ordered from 2nd quarter next year. This option is made of additional control set, 3 cameras, 4 ultrasonic waves, front and rear camera wash functions. The performance pack is made of driving dynamics improvement, and max. output and toque increased up to 517hp(380kW), 910Nm, air suspension performance optimization, 22inch alloy wheel exclusively for performance pack, additional Swedish gold details.

Polestar3 is manufactured at a Volvo car factory in Chengdu, China. Later on, it is going to be manufactured at Ridgeville plant(Volvo cars), South Carolina. Polestar3 is handed to customers by the last quarter of next year. Polestar3, which is manufactured at Ridgeville plant (Volvo cars), South Carollina is handed to customers by 2024, mid-quarter. In relation to the release, a Polestar Korea-related person said during a Consumerwide interview, "We have not yet received a share of when to start domestic sales in the 3rd quarter of next year and how much the domestic sales price will be set.“
